Join us for a very special celebration of the incomparable BUSTER KEATON, whose physical comedy and inventive stunts made him a star of silent film.
For this event, we will screen three legendary Buster Keaton shorts, featured with live theatre organ accompaniment, performed on our Mighty Wurlitzer by organist Don Kinnier.
Shorts will include:
“One Week” (105th Anniversary): A newly wedded couple attempts to build a house with a prefabricated kit in one week.
“The Scarecrow”: Two inventive farmhands compete for the love of the farmer’s daughter.
“The Boat”: Buster and his family go on a voyage on his homemade boat that proves to be one disaster after another.
Joseph Frank “Buster” Keaton was an American actor, comedian and filmmaker who became famous for his silent films and innovative stunts in the 1920s. Many of his stunts, performed between 1920 and 1929, had never been done before. Although he’s best known for his silent films, Keaton also had a notable theater career.
