Grade K - 12 Classrooms
Take your students inside a storybook! A teaching artist will read a different book and explore elements of the story through acting, movement, and storytelling. Students will discover the narrative process, work together as an ensemble, embody characters using voice, body, and imaginations, use creative problem solving skills, and engage in imaginative play while enjoying the best in children’s literature.
In this program, students will explore the elements of circus, theatre, or movement and how it connects to math and science lessons. Inspired by the show Air Play – a circus-style adventure of two siblings journeying through a surreal land of air.
Music is everywhere! Discover the mysterious and profound ways music connects to all other academic disciplines, and together join in creatively to explore the beauty of these connections through a playful, guided exploration of music composition.
Experience historic change movements through the poetry, song, visual art, and theatre that told their story. By the end, students will explore their own passion and hope through art, leaving with a unique poem, song, or story that enacts change and uplifts progress.
These workshops have students on their feet, stretching their imaginations while deepening their knowledge about the characters, setting, and themes of a performance or film. Students will learn about theatre, acting, and gain deeper understanding of the themes.
