For Stage the Page this year, we are happy to offer the program, Owen & Mzee. Luckily, this year we are able to offer both an in-person and virtual option to view the performance and are happy to accommodate whichever your school prefers. We had such a great turnout with the digital offerings last year, that we plan to continue them in addition to our live performances.. We look forward to seeing you in April!

For students in kindergarten through second grade, this program is designed to not only inspire and excite kids to read but also to improve academic performance and to expose them to the thrilling nature of theatrical productions! The program begins with the donation of a book to local classrooms along with an accompanying lesson plan. After lessons are complete, all students are invited to remotely view a culminating performance of the book in class or at home!

Cost to you: $0.00! Thanks to the generous support of many local donors, the Appell Center is able to make all Virtual Field Trips available to you at no cost

Owen and Mzee is the inspiring true story of two great friends, a baby hippo named Owen and a 130-yr-old giant tortoise named Mzee. A joyous reminder that in times of trouble, friendship is stronger than the differences that too often pull us apart.
