What is your refund policy?

Cash refunds are not available for ticket purchases. Appell Center Members donating at the $150 dollar level and above (York Symphony Orchestra Subscribers or Annual Fund Donors at the $250 dollar level and above) can exchange tickets up to 48 hours in advance of a show for another show of equal or lesser value. All other ticket holders may donate their tickets and will receive a receipt letter for tax purposes.

How will I receive my tickets?

For guests purchasing tickets online, we have several delivery options. You can receive your tickets in the mail, have your tickets held at Will Call, or print your ticket at home. If you select to print your ticket at home, you will receive printable tickets via email to bring with you to the performance. Mailed tickets will arrive no later than two weeks in advance of the performance . If you have ordered tickets for a performance that is less than two weeks away and have not received your tickets, please contact the Box Office at 717-846-1111 for assistance.

Are beverages allowed in the theaters?

Yes, unless otherwise noted.

Does the Appell Center offer children's tickets?

No, tickets prices for children are the same as for adults. Everyone must have a ticket, regardless of age.

How is the Appell Center Funded?

The Appell Center for the Performing Arts is a non-profit organization funded by a mix of ticket revenue and donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and government sources. Click here to learn about how you can help support the Appell Center.

What if I forgot my username or password?

If you’ve forgotten your username, you can use your email address. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can complete the process to have it emailed to you. If you have an account and are unsure of the email address that is connected to it, please contact the Box Office at 717-846-1111 for assistance.

Can I use my money "on account" to order tickets online?

To utilize “on account” funds, please contact the Box Office at 717-846-1111 for assistance.

Why are some seats gone when I go online the day a show is announced?

Depending on the show, we may have seats on hold for the artist, sponsors, or donors.

How should I dress/is there a dress code?

The Appell Center does not have an enforced dress code. Our concerts, comedy, and film tend to be more casual. Whereas for the symphony, Broadway productions, or other select performances, business casual is popular.

May I bring a camera or video/audio recording device?

Unless specifically noted, audio and video recording of any kind during a performance is strictly prohibited. Confiscation of equipment and penalties for copyright infringement may be enforced in the event of a violation.

Do you provide assisted listening devices?

Yes, assisted listening devices are available in the coat check room for all Strand Theatre performances. Select films in our Capitol Theatre are now available with Assisted Listening, Closed Captioning, and Descriptive Audio. Please ask a staff member for assistance.

Do you have accessible seating?

Yes, accessible seating is available in several locations throughout both theaters. Please contact the Box Office at 717-846-1111 when purchasing your seats. They will help you find the perfect seats to meet your needs.
