Aug 31, 2016

YORK, PA - The Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center will bring a new ongoing comedy club series to downtown York this fall - CapComedy. Every first and third Thursday of the month, two nationally touring stand-up comedians will take center stage in The Capitol Theatre and offer audience members a night full of laughter. CapComedy will be presented by Apple Subaru.

“Professional comedians and a consistent schedule are key selling points of the series” says Strand Capitol President & CEO Todd Fogdall. “We know that York County loves comedy. We want to support that by committing to bringing high-quality, professional comedians twice a month to the historic Capitol Theatre.”

The inaugural CapComedy performance will kick off on Thursday, October 6th with Jody Kerns featuring Will Jacobs. Kerns, a southern mother of five in her late 50s, talks about the foibles of modern living including raising children, marriage, and sex. Kerns has been featured on television shows including “The View,” “The Montel Williams Shows,” and Chelsea Handler’s “Girls Behaving Badly.” Jacobs, a former attorney from Charlotte, NC, has opened for the likes of Bob Saget and D.L. Hughley.

The series has been curated with the help of Comedy Zone Worldwide, a Charlotte, NC based company that operates comedy clubs across the nation. Tickets cost $15 and will be available starting September 6th at 10:00am EST at or at 717-846-1111.
