The Appell Center Theatre Arts Teacher educates William Penn High School (York, PA) students in various areas of Theatre Arts including Acting and Stage Makeup. The teacher is responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans that meet both the Pennsylvania state education standards and the high standards held by the Appell Center. Job requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience in the following areas is considered essential:

Certifications preferred: Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance. The employee is often required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Excellent hearing is essential.

Work Environment

Adapting to a variety of different environments is necessary for the Theatre Arts Teacher. The employee should be familiar with school environments. The noise level in the work environment varies based on classroom activity.
